A new monthly National Trust running initiative is being launched at Claife Viewing Station, on 23 October. The Trust10 is a free 10k event which hopes to encourage people to get outdoors, explore special places and take up a new challenge.
Held at 9am, on the 4th Sunday of each month, the NT team in the south Lakes have devised a 10k route along Windermere’s west shore track, which will allow runners to take in the striking lake views whilst running on a good surface for the whole route.
“We’re really excited to be taking on the Trust10 here on Windermere’s west shore; it will be a great opportunity for people to have a regular goal each month, as well as a chance to explore this special place. We want as many people to enjoy their local environment as possible, so hosting the Trust10 each month, will hopefully bring a new audience to this special part of the lakes”, said Paul Kear, National Trust Countryside Manager for the south Lakes.
The first Trust10 starting at Claife Viewing Station will take place at 9am on 23 October. The cosy café in the Courtyard at Claife will be open serving freshly made hot food and drinks. For more information or to volunteer for the events please visit https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/
